Help restore a natural area by planting 512 native plant plugs and spreading native seed. These native species will help improve habitat, support pollinators and strengthen the ecological health of the site. Volunteers may also help remove invasive plants, including dame’s rocket and garlic mustard, if they are found in the work area.
Responsibilities
- Plant native plugs in designated areas
- Spread native seed as directed by Parks staff
- Pull dame’s rocket, garlic mustard and other identified invasive plants
- Follow instructions for proper planting and invasive species removal
- Help keep the work area organized and safe
Qualifications
- No previous experience is needed
- Comfortable bending, kneeling and working with hand tools
- Able to walk and work on uneven ground
- Willing to work outdoors and follow staff direction
Additional Notes
- Tools, gloves and instruction will be provided
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather
- Bring a water bottle
- Long pants are recommended
- Restrooms may not be available on site
