Who We Are

The City of Madison's Cleanup Volunteer Program focuses on maintaining the beauty and health of our public spaces. Volunteers come together to clean parks, public areas, streets and gutters, bike paths, and along the edges of lakes, rivers, and streams. These efforts help to remove litter, prevent debris from entering our waterways, and improve the overall appearance of our community. Keeping our city clean is crucial not only for aesthetics but also for preserving wildlife habitats, protecting water quality, and ensuring safe, welcoming spaces for everyone to enjoy.

What We Do

Grab a trash bag, some grabbers, and gloves, and get to work removing rubbish from Madison’s parks, streets, bike paths, and waterfronts! Volunteers join us for regularly scheduled cleanup events, focusing on clearing litter and debris from our natural and public spaces to keep the city clean and safe. We also encourage community groups and leaders to adopt specific areas for ongoing cleanups, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in maintaining Madison’s beauty. Whether you join an event or organize your own, every bit of effort makes a big difference in protecting our environment and keeping our city vibrant.
