As a Trash Removal Volunteer, you will help keep Madison parks clean, safe, and welcoming by picking up litter and reporting larger concerns to Parks staff. This is a simple, flexible way to support your local parks and enjoy time outdoors.
Responsibilities:
Collect litter from designated park areas.
Place trash in existing park trash bins or in approved collection locations.
Use gloves, bags, grabbers, and other cleanup supplies as provided.
Report large items, overflowing trash, sharps, or unsafe materials to Parks staff.
Work independently or with a group during approved cleanup activities.
Document volunteer hours in your profile.
Qualifications:
No prior experience required.
Ability to walk outdoors and carry light bags of trash.
Follow basic safety instructions.
Do not handle sharps, human waste, hazardous materials, or anything that feels unsafe.
