Help keep Madison’s public beaches clean and welcoming during the busy summer season. As a Beach Cleanup Volunteer Leader, you will coordinate simple weekly beach cleanups at your assigned park and work with Madison Parks staff to support a clean shoreline for swimmers and park visitors.
Wind, waves, and wildlife can quickly bring in seaweed, debris, and other material along the shoreline. While Parks staff regularly maintain the beaches, this volunteer role helps supplement that work by organizing short weekly cleanups to keep conditions looking their best throughout the summer.
Volunteer Leads will help decide a regular cleanup time, communicate with Parks staff about supplies or equipment needs, and may recruit or welcome additional volunteers who want to help.
