Volunteer Workday - Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park, South Unit

Description

Volunteers will work off-trail alongside expert volunteers from Friends of Cherokee Marsh, using hand loppers to help cut invasive brush to make room for native wildflowers, grasses, trees, and shrubs

No experience needed.  Loppers and gloves provided.  We recommend long pants, long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe footwear. Bring drinking water.

Note on location:

Meet at 5002 School Rd, small parking area at corner of School Rd and Wheeler Rd.

IMPORTANT:

If there is snow cover, we may instead burn brush piles at a different location, likely Cherokee Marsh - Mendota Unit. If you register for this event, we will notify you if we'll be burning instead of lopping and where to meet.
