Green Friday at Garner Park
Celebrate Green Friday with Madison Parks! Skip the shopping and join us at Garner Park for a relaxed, family-friendly morning focused on giving back to nature. Volunteers will help pick up litter, tidy common areas, and enjoy time outdoors while making a positive impact on their community. All supplies are provided, and everyone is welcome to join—no registration required.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and bag litter throughout the park
- Tidy picnic, pickleball, and play areas
- Consolidate full trash bags at designated pickup locations
- Work collaboratively with other volunteers and city staff to keep Garner Park clean and inviting
Qualifications
- No prior experience required
- All ages welcome (youth under 18 must volunteer with a parent or guardian)
- Able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Comfortable walking on uneven ground or grassy areas
Additional Details
- Gloves, trash bags, and grabbers provided (feel free to bring your own)
- Refreshments will be available on site
- Parking available at Garner Park
- Dress appropriately for the weather; wear closed-toe shoes
