Who We Are
The City of Madison has four public golf courses that provides inclusive and affordable recreation for the community while integrating sustainable land management practices. We pride ourselves on being more than just a collection of golf courses; our courses are also home to natural meadows, native landscapes, and conservation areas. By maintaining these green spaces, we reduce water usage, enhance biodiversity, and create habitats that are beneficial to the environment. Our ecologists, volunteers, and golf enthusiasts work together to care for these natural lands while preserving opportunities for play. The blend of recreation and environmental stewardship sets Madison’s golf program apart.
What We Do
In addition to providing outstanding golfing experiences, Madison’s golf courses are key sites for environmental conservation efforts. We manage native meadows that require less irrigation, promoting a healthier ecosystem. Volunteers collect seeds to expand the potential for sustainable land use and promote native plant growth, which supports wildlife and reduces the need for chemicals. We also engage in community programming, including conservation events and youth outreach, encouraging the public to explore and enjoy these sustainable landscapes. Whether you're playing a round of golf or joining us in our conservation work, Madison Parks Golf Program fosters a harmonious balance between recreation and nature.
