Who We Are

The City of Madison is dedicated to fostering leadership, community engagement, and inclusivity across all its programs and services. We offer a wide range of opportunities for residents to step into leadership roles through city programs, initiatives, and events. From leading community projects and coordinating special events to supporting city offices and contributing to neighborhood development, we rely on passionate individuals who want to make a difference.

In addition to these hands-on roles, the City also values diverse perspectives in our advisory committees, commissions, and boards, which help shape key decisions made by city staff, the Common Council, and the Mayor. We actively encourage participation from people of color, persons with disabilities, and members of traditionally underrepresented groups to ensure all voices are heard in shaping Madison’s future.

What We Do

Our work spans a wide array of activities aimed at strengthening the community. Whether it's organizing local events, providing office support, leading volunteer teams, or serving in advisory roles, there are numerous ways to get involved and build leadership skills. These roles not only provide opportunities for professional and personal development but also have a direct impact on making Madison a better place to live, work, and play.

By engaging in leadership roles—whether through programs, community events, or city governance—residents contribute to a thriving, inclusive, and forward-thinking Madison.
