Ride the Drive: Intersection Guide - State St. & W. Dayton St.

Description

Intersection Guides play a key role in Ride the Drive by helping keep participants safe along the route. Volunteers are stationed at intersections to help redirect vehicles, answer questions, and welcome participants entering the route.

Responsibilities
• Monitor an assigned intersection to help ensure participant safety
• Redirect vehicle traffic away from the Ride the Drive route
• Welcome participants and answer common event questions
• Use event maps and information sheets to help guide participants
• Assist with basic setup or removal of barricades if needed
• Communicate with staff or volunteer captains if issues arise

Qualifications
• Comfortable standing for most of your shift (you may bring a chair if preferred)
• Able to communicate clearly with participants and drivers
• Comfortable working outdoors during the event

Additional Notes
• Check in first at the Volunteer Check-In Station with the Hub Volunteer Coordinator before heading to your assigned intersection
• Safety vest will be provided
• Bring water, sunscreen, and a cell phone if possible
