Intersection Guides play a key role in Ride the Drive by helping keep participants safe along the route. Volunteers are stationed at intersections to help redirect vehicles, answer questions, and welcome participants entering the route.

Responsibilities
• Monitor an assigned intersection to help ensure participant safety
• Redirect vehicle traffic away from the Ride the Drive route
• Welcome participants and answer common event questions

Qualifications
• Comfortable standing for most of your shift (you may bring a chair if preferred)

• Help keep the route clear of debris and assist volunteers with supplies, water, or break coverage

• In the afternoon, remind participants that streets reopen to traffic at 3:00pm and assist vendors and participants in clearing the route if needed

Sell Merchandise: Handle cash and make change while selling Ride the Drive merchandise such as t-shirts, tote bags, water bottles, and other event items. Answer Questions: Provide participants with basic information about the event route, schedule, and activities. Communication: Use the supplied walkie-talkie to stay in communication with Madison Parks staff throughout the shift. Afternoon Shift Duties: At approximately 2:30 pm, help inform participants that streets will reopen to traffic at 3:00 pm. End of Shift: Return the merchandise money bag and remaining items to Madison Parks staff. Safety: Encourage participants to respect private property and follow traffic rules. Follow emergency procedures if needed.
